Kirsty Geddes (2008 – 2013)
I joined First Bite aged 12. I had just moved to Edinburgh from Essex, and Rebecca was kind enough to let me join the older class so I could be with my cousin who was something of a First Bite veteran. Thursday evenings became the highlight of my week, and I can say with confidence First Bite is the reason I decided to become an actor. Rebecca taught me confidence, but also when to shut up and listen. She showed me that I had good ideas that she wanted to hear, and I was interesting. While I’m still not very good at learning my lines (sorry Rebecca!) I owe so much of who I am now to those few hours spent in Southside community centre, playing games and creating theatre with some of the best people I know. Thank you First Bite, here’s to many more anniversaries!
